I took off the doors, drawer and all the hardware. I used the klean strip sander deglosser, again an awesome product, use it all the time.
Then I gave it couple coats of black paint, paint and primer in one in a semi-gloss finish, same paint I used for the top of the buffet.
I used a roller for some of the first coat, but I always get a smoother finish with my brush and finished the project with a brush. Invest in a good brush too!!! Love Purdy and Wooster! Also, between coats just put your brush in a plastic bag, seal it up and put it in the fridge until you're ready to do the second or third coat! No need to wash it between coats! After the second coat of paint dried I went over most of the area with polycrylic.
And with the glass door I did not tape off the glass. It's easier if you scrape the dried paint off with a utility blade than to tape it off.
As you can see I could really use a workshop!!!
Look how different this looks already!
